Künker sale 406, lot 4587

This specimen was lot 4587 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Josef I. 1705-1711. Reichstaler 1706, Wien. Hübsche Patina, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich. (Austria, Joseph I, 1705-11, thaler of 1706, Vienna mint. Handsome patina, light hairlines, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck for Joseph I 1705-10 and is common. Thalers for 1706 include KM 1436/Dav-1032, KM 1438.1/Dav-1018, KM 1444/Dav-1013 (shown here), and KM 1464/Dav-1015.
