This specimen was part of lot 22255 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), which sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Silver Minor Pair (2 Pieces), 1664 & 1672. Leopold I. Both PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield Certified. 1) 15 Kreuzer, 1664-CA; 2) 3 Kreuzer. 1672. KM-1169. A beautiful near-Gem pair that have clearly been stored together for ages." This type was struck 1660, 1663-64, 1674-76, 1683-85, 1693-96 and is common. The CA monogram on the reverse is for mintmaster Andrea Cetto, who operated 1660-65. One thaler was ninety kreuzer in the late seventeenth century.
