This specimen was lot 3177 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$774 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand III. 1637-1657. 1/2 Taler 1640, Wien. Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. Herrliche Patina. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, half thaler of 1640, Vienna mint. Very rare, Extremely fine, Most attractive patina.)"
This type is listed for 1637-49 and is the most common half thaler of this ruler.
