This specimen was lot 995 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE: Republic, AR 20 hryven, 2005, Ukrainian Heritage Series - Sorotchintzy Fair, struck at the Ukrainian mint, Kyiv, with COA of issue, contains two troy ounces of pure silver, Proof. "Sorotchintzy Fair" is a short story by Nikolai Gogol, the first in his collection Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka, blending Ukrainian folklore, romance, and comedy around a bustling country fair. The plot follows a young man, Grytsko, who falls for a beautiful girl, Paraska, at the fair, but faces obstacles from her mean stepmother, leading him to use local superstitions, including a tale about a demon's red jacket, to win her hand." The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the Karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovantsiv). Its sign is "₴". At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven.
