Ukraine 2006 5 hryven KM-390
This specimen was lot 3153 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $50. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE: Republic, AR 5 hryven, 2006, Higher Educational Establishments of Ukraine Series – 100th Anniversary of the Kyiv National Economic University, struck at the Ukrainian mint, Kyiv, with COA of issue, Proof." This denomination was used for numerous commemoratives in 2006, including KM 387, KM 388, KM 389, KM 390 (shown here), KM 402, KM 405, KM 407, KM 409, KM 411, KM 413, KM 415, KM 416, KM 417, KM 418, KM 420 and KM 422. They were struck in various metals, including sterling silver, copper-nickel-zinc and bimetallic. The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovantsiv). Its sign is "₴". At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven.
