Revision as of 10:38, 20 June 2025 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Zurich:" to "Zürich:")
This specimen was lot 4233 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Silver coinage. 2000 Dinars 1336 H. Name and title in wreath, rev. lion and sun above value with crowns above both sides. Mule. KM -. Very rare. Very fine."
The regular issue two krans (KM 1057) featured the shah's portrait on the obverse. The reverse die was probably muled with a die left over from KM 1043, last struck AH 1331. The obverse should bear a date below the bow but is too weakly struck to discern.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 9.21 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 9.12 g.
