Sincona sale 67, lot 4253

This specimen was lot 4253 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 50 CHF (about US$66 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Ahmad Shâh, 1327-1344 H./1909-1925 AD, Silver coinage. Shahi sefid 1337 H. for Nouruz distribution in Mashhad. Lion and sun above value in wreath, rev. yâ sâhib az-zamân 'alayhi as-salâm. Good very fine."

This type was struck undated and AH 1332-1333, 1337 and 1341-1342. Another shahi was struck at the same time (KM 1047) with the date on the obverse.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.

Specification: 0.80 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 0.51 g.
