Iran AH 1341 shahi

Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75151

This specimen was lot 75151 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description^[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Shahi Sefid, AH 1341 (1923). Tehran Mint. Ahmad Shah. PCGS MS-63. Despite some extensive striking weakness, this Choice minor presents enchanting brilliance and a subtle tone." This type was struck AH 1332-1333, 1337, 1341-1342. One shahi was fifty dinars. Note the date on the lion side; some shahis had the date on the inscription side.
