Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75151

This specimen was lot 75151 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Shahi Sefid, AH 1341 (1923). Tehran Mint. Ahmad Shah. PCGS MS-63. Despite some extensive striking weakness, this Choice minor presents enchanting brilliance and a subtle tone." This type was struck AH 1332-1333, 1337, 1341-1342. One shahi was fifty dinars. Note the date on the lion side; some shahis had the date on the inscription side.

Recorded mintage: 3,000.

Specification: 0.80 g, 0.900 fine silver.
