This specimen was lot 1231 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$189 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 2000 Dinars 1337 AH (1918/1919 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. NGC UNC Details. Cleaned. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 267. Bought from Stephen Album, Santa Rosa, 1996."
This type was struck AH 1331-44 and is fairly common. Another silver 2000 dinars was struck for the tenth anniversary of the shah's reign (KM 1060). This denomination was also struck in gold (Fr-86).
Recorded mintage: 2,951,000.
