This specimen was lot 1381 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Ahmad Shah, 1909-1924, AR 500 dinars, AH1337, a very rare date! PCGS graded MS62, RRR. According to the Standard Catalog of World Coins, 10,000 coins were reported struck in AH1337, but probably were dated AH1336. This has so far been an unconfirmed date, but is now confirmed and extremely rare." This type was struck AH 1331-1339 and 1343.
Recorded mintage: 10,000 for AH 1336-37.
