Sincona sale 50, lot 1081

This specimen was lot 1081 in Sincona sale 50 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,689 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Deutsche Reichsmünzen. Preussen, Königreich. Wilhelm II. 1888-1918. 2 Mark 1899 A, Berlin. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina. PCGS PR67CAM. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, unified empire coinage, William II, 1888-1918, two mark of 1899, Berlin mint. Very rare in this condition, Beautiful condition with magnificent patina.)"

This type was struck 1891-1912 and is common tho not so common as the commemorative KM-532.

Recorded mintage: 2,350,920.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, this specimen 11.10 g.
