This specimen was lot 33806 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Baden. Friedrich I 5 Mark 1899-G MS62 PCGS, Karlsruhe mint. Bearing full mint luster and original icy color save for golden elements encroaching from the peripheries. Minimally handled and near-choice Mint State." This regular issue five mark was emitted 1891-1902. It is not rare but expensive in nice condition as is the silver two mark.

Specification: 27.78 g, 0.900 fine silver, 0.873 troy oz ASW, 38 mm diameter.
