Denmark 1654 2 skilling KM-189.2

from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10216

This specimen was lot 10216 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €480 (about US$500). The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1654. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC MS-62. Scarce type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Johan G. Guildal Collection (Private Sale-1918)." This type, with oval arms on the obverse, was struck 1654-55. Another two skilling (KM 189) had flat topped arms. Two skilling was 1/48 of a speciedaler.
