This specimen was lot 10208 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €480 (about US$500). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1652. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC AU-50. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." One krone was four mark or two-thirds of a speciedaler. We're calling this a four mark to distinguish it from the krone with the bust obverse (Dav-3567) also struck in 1652. This monogram obverse was used with variations until 1670.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 21.92 g, 0.671 fine silver, 40 mm diameter, this specimen 21.71 g.
