This specimen was lot 10206 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €216 (about US$225). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Hvid, 1651. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC AU-58 Brown. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This one was struck 1651 only and was the next to last issue of this denomination. We're not sure of the face value of the hvid after the manipulations of the 1620's but it was likely one-third skilling.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 0.62 g, copper, 17 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-175; Hede-129; Sieg-1; Schou-75; Bruun-6061.
