Stack's Bowers 2022 ANA sale, lot 36529

This specimen was lot 36529 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 12 Shillings, ND (1637-42). Charles I. PCGS EF-40. Tied for the finest example at PCGS." Numerous varieties of this denomination were struck during this period (KM 82, 83, 84, 85, 86). KM A84 has "F" above the crown; this one has an "F" and a thistle.

Specification: 6.02 g, 0.925 fine silver.
