This specimen was lot 31570 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas I Proof 20 Kopecks 1852 CПБ-ПA PR65 NGC, St. Petersburg mint. Obv. Crowned double-headed eagle with orb and scepter. Rev. Crowned date and value in wreath. Sharply defined details, with deeply mirrored fields and mottled gold and russet toning. Very rare in Proof and the only example certified by NGC and PCGS combined." This type was struck 1832-58; the denomination was reduced to 3.6 g, 0.500 fine in 1867.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000 for 1851-52.

Specification: 4.14 g, 0.868 fine silver.
