This specimen was lot 33674 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas I 10 Kopecks 1852 СПБ-ПА MS64+ PL NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Also valued as a Grivennik. Conservatively graded and most impressive." This type was struck 1832-58 in large numbers and this is a common date. The SCWC mentions assayers PA (shown here) and HI. In 1859, the silver was reduced to 0.750 fine and reduced again to 0.500 fine in 1867.
Recorded mintage: 1,350,000 (both assayers).
Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver, .028 troy oz ASW.
