Sincona sale 65, lot 239

This specimen was lot 239 in Sincona sale 65 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 4,400 CHF (about US$5,793 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"20 Kopecks 1854, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB HI. Cabinet piece. Choice brilliant proof with beautiful brown patina. (20 копеек 1854, СПб МД, СПБ HI. 4,15 г. Биткин 345. Кабинетный экземпляр. Исключительно безупречный пруф с прекрасной коричневатой патиной.) Ex auction SINCONA AG 12, Zürich, October 2013, lot 702. (С аукциона Синкона АГ 12, Цюрих, октябрь 2013, лот 702.)"

This type was struck 1832-58; the denomination was reduced to 3.6 g, 0.500 fine in 1867.
