Steve Album sale 38, lot 3782

This specimen was lot 3782 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $59.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Republic, AR 8 reales, 1895-Mo, assayer AB, two tiny chopmarks on reverse, EF to About Unc." The Mexico City mint issued large quantities of eight reales 1823-97 and nearly all the dates are common, including this one. Assayer AM is also noted for this year.

Recorded mintage: 10,474,000 (assayers AB and AM).

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
