The first specimen was lot 4444 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $299. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Reales, 1893-Mo AM. Cap and rays. Beautiful iridescent toning. NGC graded MS-63." The Mexico City mint issued this type 1824-97 and most dates are readily available.

Recorded mintage: 10,773,000, a common date.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
