Sincona sale 19, lot 214

This specimen was lot 214 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 250 (about US$313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Polupoltinnik 1756, Red Mint, MБ. About extremely fine with attractive patina. Collector’s note: 'ends leg(end). Obv. Letter Д lower. Mintmark small. Not in GM'." During Elizabeth's reign, quarter rubles were minted only at Moscow. This type of 1755-58 is noted as fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 851,000.

Specification: 6.05 g, .802 fine silver, this specimen 6.01 g.
