This specimen was lot 4342 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011) where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$239 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Brandenburg-Preussen, 1701 Königreich Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. Vereinstaler 1866. "Siegestaler". Vorzüglich-FDC. (Kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, thaler of 1866, on the victory over Austria, about uncirculated)."

This thaler was issued to commemorative the victory over Austria which cemented Prussian dominance in Germany. Like many commemoratives, it was extensively saved and is today more common than the regular issue (KM 494).
