This is one of a series of circulating commemoratives issued in the 1920's and 1930's which today form an interesting but inexpensive set. This particular one commemorates regent Diogo Antônio Feijó (1784-1843) and was issued 1936-38. The réis was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.

Recorded mintage: 1,326,000 for 1936-37.

Specification: 4.8 g, aluminum bronze, 22.3 mm diameter, designed by Walter Toledo and Calmon Barreto.

Catalog reference: KM 540.
