Brazil 1937 1000 reis
This is one of a series of circulating commemoratives issued in the 1920's and 1930's which today form an interesting but inexpensive set. This particular one commemorates José de Anchieta and was issued 1936-38. The réis was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
