This is one of a series of circulating commemoratives issued in the 1920's and 1930's which today form an interesting but inexpensive set. This particular one commemorates regent Diogo Antônio Feijó (1784-1843) and was issued 1935 only. It is scarcer than most of the other issues of the thirties. The réis was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
Recorded mintage: 14,000.
Specification: 4 g, aluminum bronze, 22 mm diameter, designed by Walter Toledo and Calmon Barreto.
