This proof was struck for the newly formed republic of Yemen in 1969 as a one year only issue. The subject is the Qadhi Mohammed Mahmud Azzubairi Memorial. It was lot 22830, auctioned by Heritage Auctions in the 2009 May Long Beach, CA Signature World & Ancient Coin Auction #3005 on May 29, 2009, for $862. the catalog description[1] reads:

'Arab Republic gold 1 Riyal 1969, choice cameo Proof, gold striking of the silver 1 Riyal. Very scarce. From the Village Coin Estate Collection.'
