Saudi Arabia AH1346 riyal

from the Razorback Collection

This type was struck for the newly formed kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the mid-1920's. It is accompanied by silver half and quarter riyals. The producer was probably the Heaton Mint in England. The type is scarce and expensive today. Later riyals from the thirties were only 11.6 grams.

Recorded mintage: 800,000.

Specification: 24.1 g, 0.917 fine silver, .710 troy oz ASW.
