This specimen was lot 101 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 11,000 CHF (about US$13,352 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Grossbritannien | Königreich. Charles I. 1625-1649. Unite of 20 Shillings n. d. (1644-1645), Tower Mint under Parliament. Group F. Sixth bust. Mintmark R in brackets. Selten. NGC MS60. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (Rare, Extraordinary condition.)" Even after the king broke with Parliament and fled to Oxford, the Tower mint (controlled by Parliament) continued to strike silver and gold coinage of the pre-Civil War types. This unite is an expensive type but is more available than the Royalist issues.
