Sincona sale 51, lot 4183

This specimen was lot 4183 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$169 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Stadt und Kanton Zürich, Schilling 1751. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (city and canton of Zürich, schilling of 1751. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"

This is a late date of a type struck 1725, 1730, 1736, 1739-51, 1754. Like many Swiss minors, it has a low catalog value. One thaler = 72 schillinge.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: billon, this specimen 1.15 g.

Catalog reference: KM 148, D.T. 454, HMZ 2-1169n.
