The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Louis XV. 1715-1774. Ecu vertugadin 1716 C, Caen. Réformation. Vorzüglich. Feine Patina.'' (kingdom of [[France]], Louis XV, 1715-74, écu vertugadin of 1716, Caen mint, reformed. Extremely fine, Nice toning.)"</blockquote> An ''écu vertugadin'' of the Caen mint, struck while Louis XV was a minor.
