This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1869-97 at the Mexico City mint. This ten centavos piece replaced the silver one real struck since colonial times. Several transitional designs were issued 1863-70, including one by the Maximilian regime, before settling on this type. This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1869-97 at the Mexico City mint. This ten centavos piece replaced the silver one real struck since colonial times.
