This specimen was lot 71129 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1879-Go S. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-65. Tied for finest graded by NGC. Superbly toned gem. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Guanajuato mint struck this type 1869-97 and it is considered a common mint, tho this is a slightly better date. The mint was closed in 1900.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a slightly better date.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.
