This specimen was lot 23313 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1835-GaFS. Guadalajara Mint. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder. Boldly detailed with radiant surfaces that hold only soft forms of handling that determine the grade. A VERY SCARCE date in this delightful Mint State quality." A half escudo of the Guadalajara mint, which struck this denomination 1825-61.
