This specimen was lot 74294 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1947. Ottawa Mint. George VI. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Brown. Maple Leaf variety. Pervaded with soft watery luster, the surfaces decorated by hues of magenta and cobalt, this enticing Specimen offers little to complain of." This type, struck at Ottawa 1937-47, is common in all grades tho the postwar mintages are lower than those of World War Two.
Recorded mintage: 31,093,901 plus 47,855,448 with maple leaf (actually struck in 1948).
Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.1 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: KM 32.
