This specimen was lot 32601 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "George VI Specimen Cent 1947 SP65 Red and Brown PCGS, Royal Canadian Mint. Rich reddish-brown, gold, and blue patina with nicely struck devices and only a few tiny marks. The scarcer of the 1947 varieties in Specimen. From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins." This type, struck at Ottawa 1937-47, is common in all grades tho the postwar mintages are lower than those of World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 31,093,901 plus 47,855,448 with maple leaf (actually struck in 1948).

Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.1 mm diameter, plain edge.
