This specimen was lot 51209 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1946. Ottawa Mint. George VI. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Red. Tied with just two other examples for the top spot in the PCGS census, this glistening, fully red Gem offers a stunning level of mirrored brilliance radiating from the fields. An exceptional and exceedingly remarkable specimen. Ex: Eric Beckman Collection." This type, struck at Ottawa 1937-47, is common in all grades tho the postwar mintages are lower than those of World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 56,662,071, a very common date.

Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.1 mm diameter, plain edge.
