Heritage sale 3022, part of lot 26665

This specimen was lot 26665 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $282. The catalog description[2] noted, "George VI Dollar 1946, MS63 ICCS, with light reddish gray toning. Some Prooflike characteristics present." This type, struck 1937-38 and 1945-47, is a favorite with collectors as only the 1937 is common.

Recorded mintage: 93,055.

Specification: 23.32 g, 0.800 fine silver, .600 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
