This specimen was struck at the Potosi mint in 1843. This mint struck silver coins 1826-1895, with one reals known for 1831-62. Assayer AM is recorded for 1843-48. The issues of Potosi vary from common to very rare. This date is not common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .903 fine silver, .099 troy oz ASW.
