Wurttemberg 1805 6 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3521 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €85 (about US$117 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. (I.), 1797-1806-1816. 6 Kreuzer 1805. Mit SCHEIDEMUNZ auf der Vorderseite und vertieftem Wappenschild auf der Rückseite. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Lagerliste Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm, Juni 2008, Nr. 1602. (duchy of Württemberg, Frederick II, 1797-1816, six kreuzer of 1805. Obverse with SCHEIDEMUNZ and reverse with the arms on a tablet. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1804-05. One convention thaler was 120 kreuzer. Frederick's support of Napoleon was rewarded with promotion from duke to king in 1806, along with a substantial addition of territory as mediatization swept away the free cities and ecclesiastical states.
