Wurttemberg 1805-ILW 10 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3519 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,339 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. (I.), 1797-1806-1816. 10 Kreuzer 1805. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Min. Prägeschwächen, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Münzhandlung Sonntag 19, Stuttgart 2014, Nr. 1426. (duchy of Württemberg, Frederick II, 1797-1816, ten kreuzer of 1805. Very rare in this quality, slightly weakly struck, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1804-05. One convention thaler was 120 kreuzer. Frederick's support of Napoleon was rewarded with promotion from duke to king in 1806, along with a substantial addition of territory as mediatization swept away the free cities and ecclesiastical states.
