Wurttemberg 1806 thaler Dav-938
This specimen was lot 5934 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,062 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806, Friedrich II. (I.), 1797-1806-1816. Konv.-Taler 1806. Von großer Seltenheit. Fast sehr schön. (Germany, kingdom of Württemberg, Frederick II, 1797-1816, convention thaler of 1806. Extremely fine, about very fine.)"
This type was struck upon the duke's promotion to king by Napoleon. Varieties exist, including KM 498 (engraver's name below bust). Both are rare.
