This specimen was lot 3524 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €220 (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. (I.), 1797-1806-1816. 3 Kreuzer 1804. Mit SCHEIDEMUNZE auf der Vorderseite. Winz. Schrötlingsfehler, fast Stempelglanz. Erworben im Juni 1990 aus dem Lager der BW-Bank, Stuttgart. (duchy of Württemberg, Frederick II, 1797-1816, three kreuzer of 1804. Obverse with SCHEIDEMUNZE. Light planchet defect, about uncirculated.)"
This scarce type was struck 1803-06. One convention thaler was 120 kreuzer. Frederick's support of Napoleon was rewarded with promotion from duke to king in 1806, along with a substantial addition of territory as mediatization swept away the free cities and ecclesiastical states.
