Cleaned, Edge Marks. 3) 1811-M. Toulouse. EXTREMELY FINE. 4) 1812-K. Bordeaux. VERY FINE. Tooled, Cleaned. 5) 1812-L. Bayonne. VERY FINE. Environmental Damage. 6) 1812-Q. Perpignan. VERY FINE. 7) 1813-M. Toulouse. EXTREMELY FINE. Cleaned. Ex: Sobin Collection. 8) 1813-Q. Perpignan. EXTREMELY FINE. Cleaned. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. From the Richard Margolis Collection." This coin was struck at Perpignan under the régime of Napoleon as emperor. The type was struck 1809-14 and is the most available of the Napoleonic two francs after the year 12. It was demonetized in 1869. The catalog[2] notes 69 dates for the type, many very rare.
Recorded mintage: 253,212[2] (253,476 per the SCWC), a fairly common date.
Specification: 10 g, 0.900 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, edge lettered DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE, designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier. This specimen 4.91 g.
