Sincona sale 91, lot 3706

This specimen was lot 3706 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$430 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1767, Zürich. Spruch. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1767, Zürich mint, motto reverse. Good extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1723-68 and is thoroughly mixed with the "city view" half thaler of the same period.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14 g, silver, 33 mm diameter, this specimen 13.80 g.
