This specimen was lot 31583 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "Zurich. City gold 1/2 Ducat 1767 MS61 PCGS. A bright example of this scarce date that was struck from worn out dies, lessening some of the peripheral sharpness and giving the fields a somewhat pebbly appearance in areas on both sides. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This type was struck without change 1718-67 yet remains scarce. The earlier type of 1712-16 has the same Friedberg number but has a distinctly different reverse.
