Sincona sale 91, lot 3701

This specimen was lot 3701 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$661 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1758, Zürich. Stadtansicht mit Angelboot unten rechts. Seltene Variante. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, thaler of 1758, Zürich mint, city view with the fishing boat to bottom right. Rare variety, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1745, 1748, 1751-58, 1761 and is thoroughly mixed with the motto reverse thalers of the same period (Dav-1789).
