Sincona sale 22, lot 1779

This specimen was lot 1779 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 175 CHF (about US$220 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Zeeland, Dukaton 1661. Sehr schön. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, ducaton of 1661, very fine.)"

Single ducatons are noted for 1659-82 with a few rare double ducatons (Dav-A4942) reported. The other Dutch provinces such as Holland and Utrecht were much more prolific producers of ducatons.
