Sincona sale 91, lot 3536

This specimen was lot 3536 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$529 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, 5 Batzen 1811, St. Gallen. Geriffelter Rand mit kleinen Löchern. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, five batzen of 1811, St. Gall mint. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1810-13. Forty batzen made a thaler.

Recorded mintage: 349,000.
