Stephen Album internet sale 28, lot 1183

This specimen was lot 1183 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN: Isabel II, 1833-1868, AE 8 marevedis, Jubia, 1850, lovely original toning, a slight lamination issue in the flan, PCGS graded MS62 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This is a late date for this Spanish pre-decimal denomination. This type was struck at Jubia (shown here) 1836-50 and at Barcelona 1852-58. It varies from the earlier type (KM 512) by the addition of the word "CONST" in the obverse legend.
